Santa Cecilia Arts & Learning Center

For more than two decades, Santa Cecilia Orchestra has been providing exceptional performances and education programs that are both affordable and accessible to communities throughout Los Angeles. We’ve touched the lives of more than 190,000 children and youth and welcomed thousands of families to our concerts. Serving you is a privilege that we don’t take lightly.

Now, we have a chance to take our work to a new, unprecedented level in the months and years to come. And we’re already started programs to take full advantage of this grand opportunity. We are thrilled and proud to invite you to The Santa Cecilia Arts and Learning Center.

The Santa Cecilia Arts and Learning Center is the Orchestra’s new home. A place where we can expand our current programs and build new ones. A place where we can strengthen our connections and commitment to the many communities we serve. A refuge where young people are encouraged and nurtured as they learn to navigate conflicts without violence and where they grow their skills as musicians. Look below as we have begun programs to serve every age from toddlers to seniors. Stay tuned for the announcement of even more opportunities.

Música del Pueblo  (Music of the Community)

Adult Music Program

This is the Orchestra’s new adult education program, which offers group music workshops and performance opportunities to community members who are 18 and older. We invite all beginning musicians, amateur musicians or retired musicians who play a string or woodwind instrument to participate in creating chamber music at the Santa Cecilia Arts and Learning Center.

Música del Pueblo participants will be coached on their instruments in workshops led by the professional musicians of Santa Cecilia Orchestra. The workshops focus on improving technique, learning new music and ensemble playing. And each year, the Música players will give a performance for the community.

Come for the music, come for the coaching, come for the friendship, come for the fun.

Santa Cecilia Orchestra is proud to present our Summer Arts Camp 2017! The arts play an important role in the healthy development of self-esteem, confidence and intellectual curiosity, all of which play a pivotal role in stellar academic performance at any grade level. This past year SCO launched its own Summer Arts Camp, a day camp where kids enjoy a week filled with creative activities that focus on discovering the power of the arts.Summer Arts Camp is designed to help students explore their creativity and self-expression, and to develop their appreciation of the arts. Activities are led by teaching artists. Students rotate through five activities each day where they play musical instruments, sing, dance, draw, paint and more. In addition, the camp includes a daily performance by SCO musicians. Our Summer Arts Camp is inspiring and empowering for the students. But most of all, it’s fun!

The camps take place at the Santa Cecilia Arts and Leaning Center.  Our beautiful buildings are in a secure gated facility with garden courtyard, backyard and ample parking.
