She has found that exposing children to art at an early age is more meaningful, inspiring confidence while their minds and attitudes are still in the initial stages of development.” 

 

The Getty Center Resources

The Getty Center has an incredibly extensive collection of resources on their website including lesson plans for teachers! These lessons are for many different ages  and some specify which age, K-12. Teach more in depth and complex art techniques that gradually get harder with each level. There are also poetry lesson plans as well as ancient art lesson plans!

KQED Artschool: Elements of Art

This playlist by explains different “Elements of Art” including shape, line, form, color, space, value, and texture. The videos feature famous and lesser-known art itself, so you may not only learn how to apply the concepts but also how they have been used in the past. Can you come up with different projects that exemplify some of the elements?
